Similar to our third newsletter, our final newsletter about the World Congress of Positive Psychology focuses on a number of key messages shared by a variety of speakers.  With each of these key messages, questions are posed for you to consider.  Again, we suggest that you might ponder one key message with the associated question(s) at a time and at a pace that is beneficial for you:

“The single greatest strength may be uncovering a (unrealised) strength in another person.”  Tom Rath

§  How often do you take the time to observe and inform others of their strengths?

“You can’t have two books (your personal and professional life is integrated).”  John Kim

§  How well integrated is your book?  How authentic are you?

“How do you receive gratitude?  Do you reject, deflect, reciprocate, accept or savour it?”  James Pawelski

§  What is the impact on self and others of how you receive gratitude?

“Positivity affects gene expression, heart rate variability and immune function plus more.”  Barbara Fredrickson

§  What are you doing to increase your positivity?  To improve your health?

“Just do it.  Just enjoy it (whatever it might be).”  Barbara Fredrickson

§  What is your “it”?  What do you most enjoy doing?  How often do you do “it”?

“Understand what restores you and what depletes you.”  Edy Greenblatt

§  How do you act on this knowledge of self?  How do you extend this knowledge to others?

And finally,

“Let’s not overestimate what we (positive psychology) have accomplished in the past 15 years.  Let’s not underestimate what we should accomplish in future.”  Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi

§  What are you doing to create a positive world, a positive community, a positive home, a positive workplace?

All of these messages were tweeted whilst at the Congress.  If you’d like to follow me on Twitter, you can find me @DinaPozzo.

As you know, we are passionate about building positivity, wellbeing and resilience.  We’d love to discuss how we might partner with you to build personal, team and organisational well-being.
